french 75
- 1.5 oz gin
- .75 oz lemon juice
- .5 oz simple syrup
the above need to be shaken on ice for proper chill and dilution
strain into glass (some people use flutes to hold the carbonation, i like coupes, better for smelling and you’re drinking it pretty quickly anyway)
top with champagne
express the oils from a good sized lemon peel over top and place in glass
here is a good variation we had on the menu at one of my previous places of employment:
the howitzer
- 1 oz overproof bourbon (e.h. taylor)
- .5 oz lemon juice
- .5 oz simple syrup
- 1 dash fee brothers peach bitters
shake above for chill and dilution
strain into glass
top with champagne
express and place lemon peel
