A Letter That Should Not Be Sent
a carefully worded introduction to the beating of a dead horse
an overly complete portrait of my particular situation and the suffering it causes
a perhaps hackneyed yet pointed analysis on the content of your character
A defining characteristic of your behavior seems to be your complete lack of understanding of the conditios and emotional states that your fellow man find themselves in. What you take no offense to nobody should take offense to. This is simply not the case. If you review your life, you will most likely find a myriad of instances where someone has taken offense at something you’ve said or seemingly overreacts to an action you’ve taken. You told me that you are used to this, that for whatever reason, people find it easy to be upset with you, and I’m assuming this is what you would think of when you recall one of these particular instances. Initially I felt sympathy for this position, but I am not sure I do anymore. I think typically people’s anger with you is in your lack of empathy and understanding. This is your fatal flaw.
You may put this all under the guise of comedy that people simply don’t appreciate. This is a tricky point to make, as I’m treading very close to “your rights end where my feelings begin” territory, but I aim to stop short of that. It’s not that things aren’t funny in and of themselves, it’s that too often, your particular brand of humor is the brand that’s funniest to everyone but the subject. Everyone laughs, but nobody enjoys their time in the spotlight. You seem to have attracted a crew of people like this, and I applaud you for that.
the way things stand and the way things ought to be
an apologist dismissal of worth
I really wish I didn’t have to look at you this closely, as you’re a really enjoyable person to have around when you only touch the surface. Not too deep inside, I think you’re stupid and slightly brackish.
