Info310: Individual Perspectives on Information
This is one of the most subjective classes in the major, apparently. I’m OK with that.
Human Information Behavior (HIB)
..is the subject of the course. We study how individuals seek information- when it is that they realize they need information, how much and what kind of information they need when they realize this, and how they go about seeking it.
We do indeed study Systems in this course, but only on a surface level, and only as they apply to HIB. A large component of the course is devoted to HIBModels. A large component.
Model Comparison Paper
For this class, there is a ModelComparisonPaper that needs to be completed. I’ve put this off to the very last in inimitable style.
Group Project
There is a Group Project with this course. It has its own wiki- had I known about PmWiki when this quarter started, we’d not have used MediaWiki. Here’s the final paper.
