Well, the conflict in the film is essentially between two schools of the martial arts. These schools individually can be said to represent other things, but martial arts is the vehicle which these other things ride upon.

there are a lot of rage shots of the guy. furthermore, he pretty much never looks at anyone, always to the side. oh, unless he is gloating over a kill.
